Pow.

One and All! The sun's out today...and I'm stuck inside the house! =( So I've occupied myself in photoshop trying to improve my anatomy work...though it's a cover to perv on male bodies..like I do >=D
Sigh. But seriously..everytime I'm inside the sun's out..everytime I'm outside rain starts pouring. GAH! Get it right dummy weather!

So I guess I'll give y'all a sneak peak of some yummy goods I've been working on (yes...I HAVE been slacking on the art requests part..sorry >_<")
<------------------------------- ;D
I've never done anatomy work in photoshop before, usually prefering to work with pencil and inks, but there's a first time for everything eh!?!
I kind of actually like it xD The pecs are looking nice ahah, though the left arm is kinda short..but I'll correct that when I'm on it.

It's actually quite nice to work on anatomy in photoshop, probably due to the easiness in switching between black and white to create the highlights and shadows of the muscles, rather than the boldness that inks give off.
ALTHOUGH! =_=" It gets quite fiddly and I'm prone to bogging down on detail rather than considering the entire piece as a whole. So gah. But I guess it's a good learning experience and I'm improving my skills.

Before I sign off till next time, I wanted to share with you guys a few photos that my friend took on her camera with her new lense on our photo day out. I think the lense details are f/1.8 50mm, although she changed it to f/2.0, if that makes any sense to the photographers out there >:D...It's currently all a pile of techno language to me right now, though I really want to learn! It's the lense that specialises in portraiture shots and my gosh is it amazing!

My fav shots:

Well guys, enjoy the photos!
Sun's setting. :)
Hope you're all well and revising for those exams ;D
aha. Happy Easter <3

BACK on board..

Yo guys! It HAS been ages and I'm so sorry about that! Life has been totally crazy since I got my exam results! AHH!

I'M GOING TO BATH IN OCT TO READ ECONOMICS!

Bam Bam! I can't wait..I'm actually so excited! Soso...updates thus far! I've opened up my art requests again, and my gosh! I've actually got quite a bit to shift through =S...I can barely remember the specifics for each and every request..so I'm going to have to trouble ya'll again when I'm on your pic. Aha.

So far I've gone through three...and then kinda started a few others but took a break this last week LOL. xD

Hmm..sad things that have happened in the last week...my laptop has officially died...it didn't even last for a year, which made me kinda pissed. Apparently my graphics card has overheated...I'm not actually sure how this has happened since my laptop isn't prone to heating up as I always take out the battery when I'm using it at home. SIGH!

On another note, =D one of my mates has passed me Dreamweaver CS4 and OMG! It is actually amazing. I need to fish out 'CSS for dummies' in the library and get cracking, then I can make my blog more exciting!

Hmm..what else. OH YEH! I've been planning on making videos from snaps of photographs of dynamic movement...and maybe even of my artwork.

I came across this amazing video on my friends tumblr (LINK: http://c8691.tumblr.com/) showcasing amazing tilt-shift photography works and had to share it! The short film is titled 'The Small Apple' by Sam O'Hare, and uses 35,000 photogrpahs shot in New York over a period of 5 days.

Hiatus...

Hello my lovelies, hope you're all well and that you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Years.

....I CAN'T believe it's already January...T_T" ...exams are in 2 weeks, in fact my first one is on the 15th. So...I pray a miracle happens and my brain starts kicking into action.

I just came on..(on my bro's comp atm) to tell you guys that I've locked away my laptop, so no internet, no anime/manga and definitely no doodles in photoshop until the 1st of Feb. I have no idea how long this monstrosity will last but at least I'm trying.

This means that ALL art requests have been put on hold. I'm so sorry about this...it was already piling up beforehand and now this happens...SORRY! >_<" I promise I will resume it all with twice the speed once exams are over. So I guess I'll leave you all with a last quick drawing I whipped up in photoshop. The lines started when my dear Sumy came over ;]. Sorry that I didn't post up a Christmas or New Years piece for you guys.

Much Love as always,

The pencil strikes back..

Helllo again my lovelies!
Firstly thank you to the ones that actually email me your thoughts about my banter because you don't have an account and you wish for me to reply and etc, aha, I love hearing them, I promise =D. It makes me happy knowing you guys take the time to read my posts =)

So...thoughts on the new header I've posted up has been mostly positive..so kudos to you guys. Though some of you have noted that the colours are a little concentrated.
Now the problem stems from the fact that my dumb laptop has a strange default setting on the monitor that makes the colours more dull than they actually appear..so hence when I colour in photoshop...the resulting colour is different than what I assume them to be.

QUESTION: how does one calibrate their monitor???? If you could help me, I'd be so grateful guys!

Now onwards. =D
I've actually been so lazy these past few days/weeks, that time has gone by so quickly! I've only got 3 proper weeks until the start of those damn exams and lord help me, my brain has not accepted this information! I've once again left revision to the last minute and I'm still finding every opportunity to stop staring at my textbook and start drawing.
I actually did a self portrait a few days back..and lol, it doesn't even look like me...mmm I see a vague resemblance..but the overall portrait...no where near what I potentially look like. aha. It doesn't help that I drew it with webcam on...everytime I looked up the original image moved..haha. and now one questions why I didn't just take a snapshot. God...ask my stupidity.

Here's the result anyways...:
mm...the face isn't wide enough...and lol...I definitely mucked up the eyes. sigh.

BUT.  Onto a happier note.

I did a quick sketch of Ariel after listening to "Part of your world- Reprise", and it actually turned out quite well....spent about 10 minutes on it...but mm I'm pretty happy =D
lookie LOOOKIE:

I need to work on tonal work with the pencil..but otherwise..I'm pretty happy.
Anyways dudes, I've definitely gotta get some snooze or I'll never wake up tomorrow.
Love you all as always.

Kal-Robo 10 + New sketch

Well, it's been a while since I last blogged and thought it high time to update you guys on what I've been working on. I've also been planning a layout change for my blog..but for my new vision to happen, I'm going to need to improve my digital painting in photoshop. =D So stay tuned hehe. =]

Right. Well..as many of you know I've finally convinced my mum to let me suscribe to Imagine FX, and omgosh what good timing too! The christmas offers have come on and ahh <3 I got a very good discount...one I can't remember the details of, but good nevertheless. But the point is, the new issue just came through the post and came with its very own Kalo-robot 2010!! Took me about an hour to cut and make, but its been worth it!! Ahh the cutest thing ever!!
The first image shows the face of the cute robot and as seen , the month face can be removed and replaced according to the current month. The send photo shows the back of the robot ahh!! ISNT IT CUTE!! comes with 3D ears hands and feet ahh <3

The templates can be found on http://www.cubeecraft.com/ under 'Designer Originals'. Totally the coolest thing everr!! haha

Mmm..next next. I've been trying to improve my anatomy for women...cause I find them much easier to draw than the male figure on most days. My latest piece :

I've pretty much got the position pat down. I find it easier to get the pose right by blocking in little thumbnails of what the position could look like in photoshop and fix on one that I like, then lay down the lines. So thats the result so far ;D
Well guys, apart from my clear ignorance of the closeness of Jan exams, I'm doing pretty good.
But I'm going to sign out right now and lay down some more designs for that dress of hers.
Much love as always
